Emergency non delegated functions applications

The process below is referred to as the Emergency Non Delegated Functions Application, where you create the initial emergency application then amend to substantive at a later date. You would only submit this type of application when you do not have the option to Delegate Functions or the client has a complex means assessment.

NOTE: Once the application has been submitted it will enter the work queue to be processed. If you require an urgent decision within 48 hours then please call the Customer Services Team direct to have the application expedited.

You will need to submit your Substantive amendment within 5 working days of receiving the Emergency Legal Aid Certificate. Please view the quick guide ‘Amending an Emergency to a Substantive’ for further information.

From the homepage, click New Application.

The same basic information will need to be supplied as for a substantive application.

When you reach the Application Type question select the type as Emergency then click Next.

You will then come to the delegated functions question. If you are unable to delegate functions then change the answer to NO.

Click Next to carry on completing the application.

Continue to create the application.

When the application has been submitted the CCMS User who created the application will receive an email notification confirming the successful submission.

Please allow up to 2 hours from submission before calling the Customer Services Team to have the application expedited. This is how long it can take for the application to reach the LAA in full.

NOTE: Providers must provide a valid explanation on why the application needs to be expedited when calling.
